Sample numbers vary depending on each individual location. Having knowledge of the soil type and field history results in a lower number of samples per field being required. More samples per field do not necessarily result in a better sample. Taking more samples can result in a poorer representation of nutrient supply if these samples are taken with NO knowledge of soil type or plant productivity.
