18. Is fall or spring crop nutrition planning better or is there a difference?

Fall crop nutrition planning provides the client more time to plan his fertilizer requirements and make any changes to their cropping/fertilizer plan. With conventional soil testing (particularly for N), farmers were asked to sample in the spring of near seeding. This was to allow more time for a better picture of the easily soluble Nitrogen pool to develop. Research has shown that the PRS™-probe provides a good estimate of the soil mineralization potential, which is like a "soil horsepower rating".
